Subject:RE: XK3 versus the new B3 Portable

If you could live with just having an "all or nothing" CV (no separation), than I would go with the XK-3 traditional or pro system. If you "have to" have the seperate CV than I guess you may want to pony up for the Porta-B (MSRP $14,000-yikes!).

pointed out as a way to "protect" the porta-b's price point.

The porta-b also shares the nine contact switches that the "new" B3 uses.

My take is that the porta-b would appeal to someone who would usually buy
or own a Hammond chop, while the XK3 system would appeal to a clone
owner/buyer and allow them to grow the system to their liking.
