Subject:RE: XK3 versus the new B3 Portable
The XK3 - and XK1 - do not have separate lower/upper manual switches for
chorus. This has caused a lot of grumbling for XK3 owners, and has been
pointed out as a way to "protect" the porta-b's price point.
The porta-b also shares the nine contact switches that the "new" B3 uses.
My take is that the porta-b would appeal to someone who would usually buy
or own a Hammond chop, while the XK3 system would appeal to a clone
owner/buyer and allow them to grow the system to their liking.
