Mike,

I donšt think the Hammond XK3 Lower manual will work on its own. There is
only a MIDI out, plus a couple of proprietary outputs for expression pedal
and bass pedals. The keyboard has no controllers whatsoever, so you will
not have any control over what MIDI channel is being output. It is
ridiculously deep with a large empty space behind the manual. This space is
normally where the XK3 actually sits. There is a Studio Logic keyboard that
may be available soon that his a 61-note controller with waterfall keys.
You can check out the Sweetwater site to get a look at it. The US
distributor of Fatar, Music Industries, Inc., which also distributes
QuikLok, is undergoing some sort of ownership change. An announcement is
due any day from them. Perhaps then we will know the fate of Fatar
distributorship in the US. The model in question felt quite solid when I
saw it at NAMM.
