I would not use the other voices. There are some hokey rhodes/DX7 sounding
patches, similar in quality to what you'd get in your General MIDI
softsynth for a Windows PC in the 1990s.

However, one cool voicing/feature that has not been discussed (that I've
seen) is the choice of bass pedal voices. As described earlier, there is a
sweet button on the XK1 (and I think the XK3) that allows you to use the
lowest two octaves to trigger the bass pedals. You can select whether this
monophonic (not sure if it selects lowest note) or polyphonic. You can also
select sustain/decay options, so it can do a plinking sorta thing.

But my favorite option on this feature is the choice of voices. There are
two types of tonewheels and two types of bass synth voices, both with
sweeping filter. So if you want to play Chameleon and get that fat synth
bass that Herbie uses on your Hammond, you can.
