Hi! Here's another two cents.
The advantage of using a midi acoustic bass sound is this: you can play a
pedal note staccatissimo and not have the sound die out on you instantly.
This gives you a solid fundamental PLUS a lot more time to move your toe to the
next note.
On a regular organ, as many here have noted, staccato notes give you a bump,
and not a sustained fundamental. This is the bump we love in the greats, so
I'm not knocking it at all. But to get a solid note you need more than a
bump. Your toe has to dwell on the pedal, which slows you down.
