Subject:Vince Welnick RIP

My apologies, given that this is foremost a forum for CloneWheelers and related stuff, but you're also all keyboardists and I
thought some of you might want to know.
Vince Welnick, keyboardist for The Tubes, Todd Rundgren, and most recently a member of The Grateful Dead for their last 5 years of
existance, died on June 2 at age 55. Reports are that it was a suicide and that he suffered from cancer, emphazsema, and
depression. I saw Vince perform many times over the years with both The Tubes and Rundgren and he was an amazing player. I also
got to spend a couple hours chatting with him in a bar in Peoria, IL many years ago and he was one of the kindest persons I've had
the pleasure to meet. It saddens me that his illness drove him to an early end.
