Subject:Help!! I need PA help...
Hey gang,
We don't gig often, but we practice alot, weekly. And the sound has
to be clear and crisp. And today's outdoor venue was bad news for
the keyboard player. The MS Pro 3 tm and Lo Pro with Delta
modification, Speakeasy Stereo Pre, Voce V3 was plenty loud enough
to balance against the guitar, drums and bass for the outdoor venue.
Small stage, 150 or more in the audience. But my Yorkville 100w 3
input with some channel tone controls was out of control, distorted
and though I've not heard the tape, embarassment is only the
beginning of my descent into hell with the rest of the bandmates. I
have been uncomfortable with this unit for some time, honky and false
sounding. It could be my patches on the Roland SP series keyboard,
but I don't think so. The upgrade to a decent piano/rhoades clone/
poly synth is a ways away.
So I need to be looking at Barbetta, JBL eons, and whatever else is
good, reliable, lightweight and reasonably priced.
We are not a gigging band, but we play at a high level. We listen to
each other and if the sound is wrong someone will hear about it.
I will be feeding in various presets of acoustic piano patches,
electric piano patches, synth patches and a small amount of the top
rotor from the mics in the MS 3tm. What's out there that I can use
in the practice space for most of the year, but useable on inside
stages and outdoor venues where the band plays off the stage and has
no real PA type of re-amplification?
