Subject:EVB3 and Speakeasy tube preamp (vs. XK-3 and RT-20)

Hi!

I have Powerbook with Logic7.2 and EVB3, which I play through a CME UF7 midikeyboard.
After spending considerable time tweaking and learning how to make the best out of the
plugin's parameters, I have to say I'm really happy with the sound it makes.
I love Keith Emerson's hammond sound, and I've gotten remarkably close with the EVB3.
Though playing hammond organ up front (soundlevel wise) in a rockband, I would prefer
to have the best sound possible. Can anyone tell me how much improvement I would get
using a Speakeasy preamp? I get both heavy and light distortion sounding quite well on
the EVB3 (without the shrillness most other clones has), but never having owned a real
hammond it's difficult for me to judge what I'm missing in sound quality.
Would it be wise to use Speakeasy only for "colouring" the sound, or get a Roland RT-20
leslie pedal also - and use the Speakeasy for heavy distortoin effects (like on "The
Barbarian"). Would this sound considerably better than using the digital distortion effect in
EVB3 with Speakeasy for post-leslie colouring? What kind of specs should I get, when
ordering a Speakeasy (Barker or Howler?)?

Also, would the XK-3 coupled with the Roland RT-20 sound noticeably better than EVB3?

Any advice or help would be great!
