Thanks for the detailed update about the Doepfer. After following this post
and doing some research, I bought a Roland A90EX. This one has travelled
around the world, but I discovered Roland will provide all 88 replacement
keys for free if I buy the installation labor. I will still be very
interested to follow Tony's Doepfer saga, because I'd like a lighter
controller. But the A90 has features that are hard to duplicate elsewhere.
I can't understand, with all the interest in computer-based software
synthesis, why somebody other than Doepfer hasn't come out with a category
killer 88 key controller like the A90 was in 1995.
