hi,

Reading this story (and being a tech freak) I have to advocate using
computers on stage.

I think laptops are some kind of imperishable against problems
with unstable power. all modern laptops can switch from PSU to battery
while running. Indeed, when there is are serious power problem on stage,
a laptop would be the only machine that keeps working.

I'm running an apple g4 powerbook on stage for two years now and never got
any
problems with hard-, software or power supply. In fact my (new) CX3 crashed
a couble of times due to the well known mainboard issue.
