Subject:Re: Another question about M-Audio keyboard controllers

I have the M-Audio Radium 61-key controller, which gives a lot of
knobs and keys at an economical price. It has no sounds of its own,
but a USB computer connection and two MIDI out. The first of these
is your ordinary MIDI out, the second one is for MIDI out coming
from the computer via the USB. This setup is probably fine for a
MIDI studio setup.

For live playing, however, I think that this controller is
insufficient. It only has 10 keys of polyphony, and keys near the
right end of the keyboard sometimes hang when struck rapidly;
control knobs and sliders are sampled at too low a rate which means
that rapid changes can go unnoticed, including the sustain pedal.
These losses are rare, but when they occurr they of course do so at
the least suitable moment. But I guess this is what you pay for in
the hobbyist price range.
