Subject:Boss RT -20...Impressive, Thomas! A few Questions

The MP3 clip of the new Boss RT -20 that Thomas Adamson provided for us is
very impressive indeed. I also had a hard time figuring out where I could
find one of these in the states because I was confused that it might be a Roland
product, but then I found out that it was a Boss and so I looked it up on
Musicians Friend. They are selling this for 225 dollars, minus the power supply.

Too bad it is not stereo but perhaps there is some logic behind that....
most leslies are mono units themselves after all, so in reality a mono sim could
work for a lot of us. I rarely have the luxury of having stereo speakers on
most bandstands these days, so something designed to be used in mono may work
best for me anyway.

One of the things I have not liked about a lot of sims is the way the sim
effects the sound of percussion in the organ. So my first question would
be....how is the percussion effected by this unit? My hope is that it would be
relatively neutral, particularly in chorale mode.

The unit is also advertised as having overdrive function. I have always
liked the overdrive on the Roland VK organs. Any comments on this would be
appreciated.

Last question..... Thomas - you mentioned that this can be used with
headphones. Does it have adequate output for phones, or even a dedicated headphone
output ?

Those are the only questions I have for now. I can't wait to demo this
thing. The MP3 sounds really good.

Mark
