I just did a little research on MIDI THRU. It doesn't perform a merge
function, so what I told you is wrong. THRU just passes thru the
incoming signals from the MIDI IN port. Anything you do in the
controller keyboard goes out the MIDI OUT port only. I think to do what
you want, you DO need an external Merge box. Sorry about that--a bit of
a senior moment, I guess!
