Another prominent keyboard player and arranger for The Stones from
the mid 60's to early 70's was Jack Nitzsche. Some of his notable
performances are on "Satisfaction", Get Off My Cloud", "Paint it
Black", "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby", "Let's Spend the Night
Together", "Sister Morphine", and the choral arrangement on "You Can't
Always Get What You Want". He composed the soundtrack for
"Performance" starring Mick Jagger as well as close to 40 other major
motion pictures including The Exorcist, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's
Nest, An Officer and a Gentleman, Without a Trace, and The Crossing
Guard. He was responsible for the orchestral arrangements on many Phil
Spector records and was associated with Neil Young as arranger and
pianist for many years. He also co-wrote "Needles and Pins" with Sonny
Bono. Although not well-known, Jack Nitzsche was a major
behind-the-scenes talent.
