Subject:Re: Chuck Leavell and the Stones

I saw them on Bridges to Babylon; I'm not sure WHAT they use Chuck for, unless it's just a familiar face for Keef to see and orient himself.

I wouldn't base too much on a 15 minute Superbowl halftime set.
Chuck is a very immportant part of their latter day live sound, and
is generally very audible. And yeah I agree that they kinda sucked at
halftime - except for parts of Satisfaction where they were playing
like the proto-punk rockers that they are. Playing like they meant
it. Missed notes and all.
The classic-era Stones albums are very, very, heavy on the keyboards.
Nicky Hopkins in particular was an integral part of the Exile on Main
St. era Stones, and is my personal favorite rock keyboard player of
all time. I have a framed Nicky Hopkins poster hanging on the wall in
my piano room.
