Subject:The Mix (Was Re: CX3 in the spotlight...)

Norm sez:
< had the worst mix. It was awful. Anyone notice his clav up there on top of the
Motif? He was playing Superstitious and the clav was crankin and then he gets up
and walks to the front of the stage to sing with the rest. Clav keeps on
playing! Damn, using backing tracks! Oh well. It was a nice medley though.
Usually these show have great sound. I was a bit disappointed with this one. I
was more disappointed with the outcome of the game but that"s another story for
our local sports talk radio here in the Seattle area!!!!!!!!!!

Actually whoever was doing the mix for the program should have been taken out & shot. W/ the Stevie Wonder set all the singer's mikes got turned up at least 5 seconds after they had started thier feature, & in some cases, even the turned up mix still sounded terrible. It continued into the National Anthem & even w/ the Stones. Ron Wood was halfway into his solo before you could hear him. At the post game ceremonies you were hearing so much stadium echo in the mix that you could barely discern what Taggliabu (sp?), Cowher, Rooney, et.al. were saying. I was shocked & disappointed that such a high level media event was served by such bad sound reinforcement.

Actually I was rooting for the other side than Norm, but can't say it was a satisfying victory.
