Hi Bruce,

Can you explain what a "troll" is? In my several years on the internet
I've heard the term used a lot, an overly long and increasingly angry
argument is almost always involved - but I don't really know who/what
the "troll" is.

It seems when a SE fan posts something "out of the blue" about adding a
SE product to someone's gear, when the subject has not come up before -
and gets an angry response from someone else who doesn't want the
SE "pimping" on the forum as I've heard it called - then that makes the
person suggesting the SE gear the "troll." They put out the "bait,"
from experience knowing there could highly likely be angry responses:
So it's their fault? Are they the "troll".(?)

When the back and forth arguments start getting longer and more
involved, it's like "Which came first the chicken or the egg?" And
there're normal posts like the usual flow of traffic sandwiched in
between the argument - maybe trying to break it up? Yeesh!

Some clarification please, when you find the time.

Thanks ~ Walter j

the forum to read new messages, and I don't want them in my email.
