Your CX-3 should sound good with any quality tube amp. I too tired
of packing the Leslie and have been using a 1965 Fender Super Reverb
which has been modified. The factory 4 ten inch speakers have been
replaced with a 15 inch Peavey Black Widow. Your amp should have a 15
inch speaker as the bigger speaker gives much better lower frequency
response than 10 or 12 inch speakers. Especially if you are doing any
left-hand bass playing. For the record I saved the original Fender
parts and pieces and if and when I ever sell the Super Reverb it will
have the original factory 4 ten inch speakers in place.
