Could be. don't know if this happened in my case. I bought two other pedals form the same seller alongside the "broken" one. He suggested I buy a radioshack part to fix the broken part. he was willing to ship the broken pedal to me. I then mentioned to him that is not a for sure solution as a pot has different shaft types and sizes. Just recently another pedal seller in Canada, reported that an item i had won had the battery connector come off as he pulled the battery out to pack it for shipping, and if I'd still like to receive the item. I said it was ok as battery connectors are cheap and although not 100% original, I can find ones that look like the same thing. he sent me the pedal as he claims in an ebay response. Again, being overseas, i still have to confirm with my brother if the pedal arrived. i know its a gamble dealing with things you can't see and people you don't know. We don't all have the luxury of hiring someone to scour the countryside for good gear. We have to trust someone. If sellers want a certain price for an item they should list a reserve or a BIN. Then again, not everyone has enough scruples. But they'll get theirs in the end. The money they made or the swindle they pulled off will come back to them in equal measure.
