It is true that we had a problem with some 220v units a long time ago.
While an inconvenience for the customer, we did replace these
transformers, acknowledging that it was a defect from the manufacturer
of the transformers.

This problem however was corrected long ago.

One of the long term, on going projects here has been the pursuit of the
silent preamp. Numerous tests have now resulted in a nearly silent
unit, many many times quieter then previous revisions.

While "earth ground loops" can still cause headaches this is true of
most audio equipment.
