Anyone with a VK8 or VK8M might find it worth their while to check
out the VK_Corral Files section - if you haven't already. The
Soundside Edit program (which I bought for $39 and downloaded) makes
a world of difference to the Leslie sim to my ears, much more 'in
your face.' I think it was mostly mic placement. And the edits
really brought out the percussion.

I adjusted some speed parameters and transition times and got a
sound I like even better: I like a Leslie to run 'almost' too slow
on both chorale and tremelo, just right on the fine line before too
slow - sounds totally gutsy to my ear. And I like the horn to take
several turns ramping up/down and the drum ramping up slow then
freewheeling for way past the horn's ramp down after that. With some
editing these Leslie fx are right where I like them = think almost
Steppenwolf, but not quite. It's when the Leslie sim's running slow
that you can get that effect very pronounced on big chords and
endings. Walter j
