Alan,

I agree very much with your comment that this is Steve's success that HS is
respecting. I personally think that the 'evil empire' emotion being
expressed is just a misdirection of the intense feeling that people have that HS has
not treated the clonewheel market well with its halfhearted products and what
feels like customer neglect.

I get kind of crazy about the US car companies who from back in the early
70's kept saying "we cant make cars that get better mileage" until the Japanese
did it. And they continue to drag their feet to this day because not
changing is easier than changing and innovating. And they are dragging the US car
industry down and that gets me angry. The idea that their myopia has to kill
the US car industry drives me wild. But anyway, I digress.

For me the US auto makers fill that 'evil empire' role. For clonewheelers,
its probably HS.

Hey, we are emotional about our favorite toys..lol

So, if I were Steve, I'd just take all this as a compliment – a sign
of grudging respect. He has arrived as a worthy competitor and is
being treated like one. I see no reason for all this "evil empire"
talk about HS over this move. If I were them, I'd do the same thing.
