Subject:RE: Roadbox III - Is it too expensive....?
And here is the difference between Speakeasy and the big boys. When I was
talking with Steve during the designing of the RBIII, I mentioned that I
could not physically handle a 95 lb piece of equipment. Steve said that he
could make it lighter, but it would not sound as good. If he built it out of
shitty materials to save weight, he may have been able to sell twice as
many. But Steve refuses to sacrifice quality for mass appeal. I wonder what
decision Roland would make.

My RB lll is built like a tank, is much more portable
than my late Leslie 44W, and sounds terrific. I owned
a MS Pro-145 prior to the 44W, and while it did the
job OK, it seemed a bit "lite'' in
construction/durability - compared to the Roadbox.
Plus, sonically the RB lll is simply stronger (to my
ears) - in many ways.
