Subject:Re: Roadbox III - Is it too expensive....?
All good points, Moe and David: These are things I
would've pointed out had I responded sooner in this
thread.
My RB lll is built like a tank, is much more portable
than my late Leslie 44W, and sounds terrific. I owned
a MS Pro-145 prior to the 44W, and while it did the
job OK, it seemed a bit "lite'' in
construction/durability - compared to the Roadbox.
Plus, sonically the RB lll is simply stronger (to my
ears) - in many ways.
If you are able to get a 'hands on' experience with a
Roadbox, the price will make more sense. It's a piece
of heavy duty gear. I'm fine with it being carted -
dust cover only- in my band's trailer. If I still used
a Pro-145, it would have to be in a roadcase...
I sold my Leslie and trek pre-amp, plus a couple other
pieces of gear, to make the Roadbox lll a reality for
my situation. But it's been worth it.
