Subject:crossovers

All of this talk lately about the Speakeasy RBIII crossover being
different from the "standard" Leslie crossover has gotten me to
thinking about crossovers. Just out of curiousity, I did a google
search for "crossover 12db/octave" and got a lot of results for...CAR
AUDIO crossovers. ??? So when I search all of the major online
stores for rackmount crossovers and the like, they are all 24db/
octave. What is the sonic difference between the two? (By "sonic
difference," I mean, "what difference would you actually hear if you
had the same crossover point, but 24db/o instead of 12db/o?")
