Subject:Re: Being amazed by "basic organ technique"

Lou,

You misunderstand my intent. Far from making fun of beginners, I am
lamenting the lack of examples easily available to them. We are all still
amazed by wonderful musicality and blazing chops as we should be.

By the time I graduated from a combo organ to my first Hammond, I had seen
many examples of Hammond playing. It was all around me, in live bands, on
TV, etc. I rented a Hammond and put it in my house for a week before I owned
one, and pretty much worked out what to do in that time because I had seen
it so much.

I'm just wondering where those experiences are coming from for today's new
players. No belligerence necessary.
