Subject:Roland VK-88

Hello Clonewheelers. I recently spent some time at the local Guitar
Center playing a VK-88 and I have to say I was impressed. I really
love the action of the keybed. It is so fast and sweet. Unfortunatly
they had it plugged into a small Roland amp (not the KC 550 something
smaller) so I didn't get a true impression of the tone. Currently I
am playing one of the new Korg BX3s which I am fairly pleased with.
The one gripe I have with the BX3 is the high base output which I have
to compensate for by turning the bass all the way down in the internal
eq. I use a Pro-3t and Low pro for amp and I have been generally
pleased with the tone. Anyway, would it be worth switching to the VK-
88 for the action? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Just
so you know I have played the XK-3 and although I though it was nice,
the keys seemed kind of small. Also, I owned an XK-2 and found that
when I played the highest B flat a most un-hammond like tone would
result so I am a little heasitant to jump into the whole XK pro rig.
Thanks and keep on keepin on !
