I get warm fuzzies every tilme I get a new piece of gear and it has
an IEC ac connector on the back but IMO a uniform universal DC
power supply spec is asolutley a fantastic idea and even though
I've considered building one for all the gear I shlep around; 9V,
12V, +/- 18V but I never considerd it might be a standard all
manufactures would adopt. Since obviously many do already
use extrnal dc power, a uniform spec seems like the "logical next
step". I'm not holding my breath but back in 1980 or whatever, I
would have bet you good money MIDI would never have been
universaly accepted.

For gigging musicians, wall warts are simply one more thing to
lose, forget, or damage. Many of them are impossible to replace
on short notice.
