I noticed that you're using the "Seq. Record" Template instead of the
"Use Ex.Zone". Is the latter something you tried but didn't have
success at? The manual recommended using the "Ex.Zone" for triggering
another sound module. In any case, I'll definitely try giving these
settings a shot this evening when I get home.
Also, on page 87, under the KEYBOARD CHANNEL heading, the manual talks
about "confusion of the MIDI signals" and being careful not to assign
duplicate channels including the External Zone. That being said, I can
see why (for your MIDI settings) you're using...
Ch Upper:1
Lower: 2
Pedl: 3.
However, in your ZONES I also see that your using the Ch:2 for your Ext
1 setting but you're not experiencing a conflict with the MIDI "Lower"
setting of "2". Hmmmmm... I guess I'm not interpreting the manual the
same way (or more likely reading too much into it) LOL
In any case, I've got some good ideas to try out and I thank you for it.
Peter

Hi Dave,
I'm looking at the MIDI Template Table on Page 99 of the XK-3 Manual (Pg
91 for the XK-1) and it looks like that once you select the "Use
Ex.Zone" Template, everything is turned off and you have to go in to
select what you want turned on or changed. In other words, if I were to
select this zone and just expect the organ to immediately trigger the
sound module, I'd be in for a rude awakening. Is this the way your read
it? Yikes, this can get confusing!
If I attempt MSB (9) Roulette, do I leave the LSB (10) & Program Change
(11) settings alone for the time being and just shoot for getting the
sound first?
Peter

Hi Dave,
If I'm just going to be using the entire keyboard to trigger a single
module patch, and the Hammond's Zone #1 is set to Midi Channel 1, do the
Channel settings for Zone #2 & Zone #3 have to be set to Midi Channel 1
as well or should they be assigned different Channel numbers or switched
to "OF"? Thanks!
Peter

Forget it, you wont find it there... Just go to MIDI Zone 1 and start
turning the bank select knob. Eventually you will find the right code.
