Subject:WS540 & WS550

I bought a WS550 per group post recommendations a few years back. I
wanted to upgrade from some X-stand variations that looked and felt
wrong. They moved a little side to side while I was playing and had
no room underneath - I banged the front of my calves on the middle
of their frames underneath.

But I really disliked the WS550 when it arrived. All my keyboards
were small to medium size and it seemed huge, heavy and
disproportionate. Then someone suggested I try the next size down
WS540. It was just the right size, used it for all my single boards.
But I still had this big hunk of square metal tubing, the WS550,
sitting behind some gear gathering dust.

I'd never had one of the big 88 key monster hammer boards, and had
no frame of reference to judge the WS550 by. The WS540 worked fine
for me. Then I got my first Fantom, and the chunky unused 550
suddenly made sense = just right for my Fantom. Since then I use the
smaller 540 stand for small to medium size boards, and the larger
550 stand for Fantom and VCombo size boards. Tons of room
underneath, if only for my feet and a pedal :) and instant set up.
