Subject:Re: Greg Rollie Settings
I used to play Evil Ways and OyeComoVa in the latin rock band I was in. I would often use the Rolie settings (and sometimes the Chester Thompson settings). For Greg, I found 8888 with perc on, fast, worked on both songs.
For Oye, the trick is the voicing: both hands on the same manual, LH playing (I think, but I'm at work and can't test to remember) G-C-E with the RH playing A octaves about it for the A-7, and dropping your left pinky to the F# for the D.
Have fun!

I have a session tomorrow where I'll need to be playing organ parts to "Oye
Como Vas" & "Evil Ways". I'll be getting to play an organ with drawbars,
percussion, chorus, etc.
I'd be interested in trying to use settings similar to what Greg used in
those tunes. Any suggestions or advice from the Group would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Peter
