FYI,

As a point of comparison regarding weight and price of tube amps, an Ampeg
SVT-CL Bass Amplifier with an output of 300 watts, using 2 x 12AU7 and 6 x
6550 tubes, weighs 80 pounds. List price is $2249, street Price is $1599.

Its smaller brother, the Ampeg V-4BH Bass Amplifier with an output of 100
watts, using 1 x 12 12AU7 and 4 x 6550 tubes, weighs 40 pounds. List price
is $1299, street price is $899.

These are part of Ampeg's Classic Series. The Ampeg SVT was a very popular
tube bass amp in the 70's.

Note the use of the same tubes that are used in the Leslie 122 amp. The
circuits are of course different. Much of the difference is due to the tone
shaping capabilities of these amps.

These amps can be viewed at www.ampeg.com (under products, see "Classic
Series Heads")
