Subject:I just Auditioned the SE Mark III!!

Curiosity and a close geographic landscape got the best of me
today. I had the priviledge of checking out the new Speakeasy's
Mini-Leslie. I actually got two things accomplished:

1. I finally got to meet OHF Bob whom I've known via this group for
over 2 years, but have never met in person. He lives about 20
minutes from my house. Thanks Bob, it was a real pleasure to
finally meet you. 2. I finally got to hear for myself what a truly
awesome Leslie this really is.

Tony and Bob are right: this cabinet will rip your head off if you
want it to. I'm primarily a Jazz/Gospel/Blues player. Bob was
gracious enough to let me tweak his SE preamp and XK-3 to where it
was close to mine. The horn defnitely ramped up and down faster
than my Leslie 21h and 145.

I have to agree though that this thing definitely can cut through
drums, guitar, or whatever else it was up against, volume wise. I
also think it would definitely cut through during a outside gig.

I absolutely loved the low-end. It was very rich and ballsy buy all
standards.

The quality of construction on this beast is absolutely
MAGNIFICENT. It is a true road worthy Leslie!! I was told by Bob
this was unit #3. Steve even autographed it for him!

Overall, it definitely has the grunt and grind of a 145. There
definitely is a distinctive tone and edge to it. I only could spend
an hour with it so, I'm sure I could have tweaked it a little more
to the warmer side if I had the time (I'm hoping Bob will let me
come back again). I thought I'd miss not having a lower rotor, but
I didn't with this cabinet.

Congratulations Steve. Once again, you've out done yourself on this
one. I plan on putting this unit in my aresnal in the very near
future.
