Yeah. I had the same lust.. Used to wait until the latest Heathkit catalog
came out! But I passed on the Vox.. I was a Farfisa guy at the time.

I didn't think I was the only Heathkit freak... I had it bad! But when the
Jaguar came out, I lusted after it. When I got the kit home, I was on an
assembly marathon. Didn't sleep until the wee hours of dawn crept in. And
then, only enough to get started again. I remember assembling the last
circuit board and the tip of my Weller soldering gun giving out... It was
3:30 AM, Sunday morning. In PA, the blue laws were still in affect. Local
Hardware store (RadioShack's were rare then) not open on Sunday to replace
the tip. Didn't know that coat hanger wire would work in a pinch. What a
dissapointment! My eyes STILL burn from the solder resin when I recall
those days! LOL!
What a thrill when I turned it on.... and IT WORKED!!!! Have to admit, I
was fond of Heathkit.
