At the risk of being the source of more misinformation, I believe there is
separate C/V for upper and lower,.. ie you can have one manual C/V on while
having the other off. You cannot however have different settings for each
manual while having them both on. This is in keeping with the original and
what is meant by the loosely used phrase "separate C/V"
