Subject:Re: VK8M Leslie Bypass
I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is essentially a stop
function. All it bypasses is the rotary part of the effect. The COSM
amp/cabinet modelling is still in effect. What this basically does is
allow you to make sure that you don't have to deal with a stopped horn
in different positions that would give you slightly different tones.
But when you select the different amp types, there is still a huge
difference in tone. Type IV seems to sound about the most transparent
with the overdrive turned all the way down. And there are the EQ
settings, too, which can be used to brighten the sound, if you're
looking to run it through a real Leslie or something. I'll be doing
that with mine soon.
In the Files section you'll find instructions on how to set the bypass
by using a computer to send a MIDI sysex command to the VK8M.
