I got amazed with your response as changed almost my
overall concept about warmth (sweeteness ?) of tubes ,
unless to get better powered sound for sampled sounds
(or modeled clones) thru MIDI keyboards

I will reconsider MOSFET again for bass frequencies,
to get enough power to drive my home made woofer
speaker.
Seems a good new that MOSFET results should be the
same or yet with better "warmth" for the bass side of
the equation, furthermore when power is needed to feed
a hungry Eminence 15"

TUBES and MOSFET's has very similar curves
characteristics, in particular if we compares TUBE's
in pentode configuration with the called
"depletion mode MOSFET".

TUBE's than MOSFET's and BJT's***
MOSFET advantage TUBES in all aspects:
-Very higher transconductance (two magnitude order,
typically 3,5 mhos)
-Direct load coupling (transformless) this mean higher
bandwidth, less distortion, more damping factor.
-Better gain bandwidth product.
-Power bandwith one magnitude order higher than TUBES.
-Easy paralleling.

Guess that overdrive should be an issue for many
clonewheelers , i.e. those "á la Jon Lord"
In my case as distortion is not crucial (mainly R&B)
have more reasons to take advantage of the great
amount of power available on the MOSFET side without
sacrificing "warmth".
