You don't have to (pay more than $1000 for a 25 note
midi pedal board). Last year, I picked up an A100
pedal strip on ebay for $41 ($1 + $40 shipping) and a
nice (clean) set of A100 pedals for about $130 incl.
shipping. I sent the pedal strip out to Vern Jones at
Sound Rearch (http://www.sound-research.net/) in
California and he converted the pedal strip to midi
(using the highest harmonic contact) for about $325
parts & labor & shipping. I had him preserve the long
wiring leads on the strip so that if someday I had the
need, I could use the pedals for a chop. A friend of
mine built a case (box) in mahogany & I was done.
It's plug n play XK3-UM, XK2-LM & A100 midi pedals.
