Subject:More module discussion ( V5+, VK8m)

It looks like it may be time for me to finally retire my Roland VK7 . It has
served me well and has more than paid for itself in rentals and on my first
paying jobs as a keyboardist ( I have been a drummer primarily). I was
prepared to LOVE the XK3 when it came out but on the gig I am doing unfortunately
due to space requirements I must use a leslie sim. So here are some questions
for you module users.

Is anyone out there using a Voce V5 plus with an external leslie sim? I am
kind of curious about how the new Line 6 leslie sim might work with one of
these. Any other comments from V5+ users would be appreciated.... there seem to
be too few out there. Personally I still have never seem or heard one.

And then there is the option of the Roland VK8m. I have had a love/ hate
relationship with the Roland 8 series which has probably been well documented
on this list. The V combo, VK8 and VK8m all seem to be missing some crucial
features. For example -

I recently heard ( tell me it isn't true) that there is no FOOTSWITCH for
the leslie sim on the VK8m. If it is true , how could this be? On the plus side
, the leslie sim that I heard via the Soundside de. mp3 clips sounds VERY
good....and I hoping that some of you VK8m owners might be able to confirm
this. I have always liked the VK7 overdrive too...hopefully the VK8m might meet
or exceed that. On the VK7, the leslie to get overdrive the leslie sim had to
be ON to get overdrive ( with the exception of the wimpy "combo" amp sim ) .
Is the overdrive accessible on this full time ? That would be nice - it
would mean being able to get overdrive while using a real leslie.

I have a million questions, having little or no experience of hearing either
unit. I bet I am not the only one with questions out there. But the VK3 sim
does not get it for me, so have have to explore other possibilities.
