Subject:Re: Korg CX3, ver. 1 versus ver 2 question
I also recently bought a brand new CX-3 (early this year) which has
the lipped keys but came with the 2.0 OS installed (LED drawbar
animation on startup). Out of interest - did you buy this in an
asian country? What serial number is on the back of yours? (sub-
2000?) I'm curious if there is a certain batch of these out there...
Likewise, I don't think the lipped keys on the CX-3 are an issue.
It's not like normal piano keys because it is extra round and
thicker. In fact, I couldn't find a way to even touch the rest of
the key under the lip when playing - smears and slides and all that
included.
There is an interesting CX-3 FAQ posted on this list, which you can
search for in the archives... it gives alot of detail on the history
of the digital model. The poster also compared the almost-waterfall-
lipped keys side by side with the fully-waterfall keys that became
available in the BX-3 (and later CX-3's), and found little to no
difference in playing between the two. The feel of the keys are
supposed to be the same.
