Subject:Using Roland PK-5 pedalboard with another brand keyboard???

I have a Roland VK-8 and a PK-5 pedalboard.
They work just fine together, but I'd prefer a different bass sound.
I've tried to play my Korg Triton Le, my Yamaha DX-7, and my Yamaha DX-21
with the
PK-5, but get no sound at all.
The VK-8 and the Korg, and Yamaha's all work together through MIDI just by
plugging
them in.
Does anyone know why the PK-5 can't play the Korg and Yamaha keyboards??
