Martin,
This is almost as difficult a question as asking what speakers sound the best....everyone has their own opinion!!
I have had about 20 pair of different headphones in my lifetime from cheap to very expensive and although they are heavy the ones that remain my favorite are Koss Pro4AA.
You can get them new for about $85, lots of times they are $50-$75 on E-Bay.
