Subject:Volume/Expression Pedal
Well, after months of researching all of the alternatives, I've
finally made up mind to buy a Roland VR760. My favorite clone was new
Hammond XK-3, but the VR760 suits my needs much better and costs so
much less... Anyway, one of the things I loved about the Hammond was
the volume pedal. The volume pedal is a huge part of playing B3 parts
and I've never found one that came close to genuine article. I own a
Roland EV-5 and a Korg EXP-2 - both woefully inadequate. Years ago I
had an Ernie Ball in-line pedal I loved for my Fender Rhodes, but
never used it for organ.
First, is the problem really the pedal? Does it matter if one is using
it control "Volume" (CC7) of "Expression" (CC11)? Does anyone have any
experience with the Roland EV-7? Is it much better than the EV-5?
Anybody have a favorite CV pedal? Would I have better luck with an
in-line volume pedal? Any favorites?
Second, is there really some secret proprietary Hammond voo-doo going
on in their pedal or can it be wired with a standard TRS connector and
used as a regular CV pedal?
thanks,
bj
