I did this using real hammond keys and the guts from a fatar
controller. It works. If I did it again I would probably try a
Doepfer OEM kit. Look up their MKE (universal midi keyboard
electronics) which is sold as a bundle w/the waterfall keyboard:

their price is $270 assuming you can build a case yourself. Might
need to buy a cable set too-- you'll need to ask about that.
