Nothing wrong with a newer leslie (even H/S) but a few things to
consider:
MAny newer leslies (like one we have) have full-range horn drivers (no
more Jenson V21, unless you find an old used one) and will be very very
bright(like ours)--that can be remidied by tone control on your hammond
consle or clone eq (turn your highs down 9-12dB). Then you can get
your more vintage tone and growl out of your new leslie. Of course a
Speakeasy can help out with that.
If you're not a die-hard purist when it comes to original vintage
gear, A new HS or Motion sound MS series leslie should do the trick
for you, without many maintainance worries (not to mention cheaper to
own and maintain in the long run)
