Subject:Re: More B4 II "review"

Martin,

I've been playing with the B4II Demo a bit (I'm still waiting for my
upgrade to come), and my first impressions are that I really like
what I am hearing and I am quite impressed. The basic sound is
there, full, rich sounding, and surprisingly warm sounding through
my studio monitors. I am very confident that given all the
parameters B4II has to offer, I'm going to be able to get "MY" sound
out of this software. The previous version had some nice presets but
wasn't tweakable enough for me to get the exact sound I wanted.

I do have a couple of issues with it.. it would be nice if I could
get all the parameters on one screen but this doesn't seem to be the
case. For instance, I find it odd that on the main screen you can
toggle CV off/on but you can't select the depth/intensity (ie C1 to
C3 and V1 to V3), and if I recall correctly (I'm at work so I can't
look at the display from here) you can't see the speaker type on the
screen that you use to edit all the leslie parameters.. So while I
have a number of issues with the layout of the controls and the
various screens, for the most part I really do like the sound.

My only problem with the sound itself, is that some of the tones
seem too loud to me, and I would like the ability to adjust the
relative volumes of the different tones, but I don't think that this
is something B4II allows the end user to adjust.

All in all, I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the
B4II, so much so that I am going to build a gig rig based on B4II as
soon as it's supported on the Muse Receptor.
