Subject:Re: Leslie 2101 compare MS Pro3T's?

Some 2101 facts/observations....

The 2101 has a 1/4" input that will work with any clone. I did the A/B comparison with my KORG CX3 side by side with a new XK3 through the 2101. Both keyboards sound very good through the 2101.

The 2101 comes with a foot switch that goes fast to slow, or hold it down a little longer and it goes into brake mode.

I sprung for the 11-pin cable because the HS expression pedal (a beautifully manufactured heavy duty piece of gear) has a side-switch to activate the Leslie through that cable only. I had a Hammond Tech build a circuit for a side switch on my C3 back in the early 70's and loved not having to reach across and throw the half-moon switch.

I have great success using the 2101 solo for rehearsals or teamed with a HS 2121 or a pair of Motion Sound KT-80s run stereo (thanks, Walter) for live gigs. The on-board sim mixes very well with the high rotor for the gigs, while the on-board stereo woofers are loud enough for a small rehearsal room. I'll try and make some time to build a more informative post later on.

I run an XK3 and a Yamaha P80 through a 3-channel Speakeasy Rack, custom built to route the piano signal through the 11-pin cable into the 2101. I'm about to pop for an Electro to replace the Yamaha.... gotta run, more later.

Another question or two: Do the 2101's have a "standard" line input
from your keyboard, or do you have to use a Leslie cable? What about
foot-switch fast/slow/brake control? It would be nice to get a manual
copy to read up on them. Wj
