Subject:Re: CX-3 version upgrade danger???

Hi Lou,

>I suppose they (Korg) took a calculated risk that the benefits would outweigh the problems, and I think they were right.

Yeah, it was kind of a no-perfect-win situation:

- If the v2 upgrade was released (for FREE, mind you), 1% of all users would have a problem with the upgrade, and would need a mainboard replacement. The replacement is costly, and time consuming, and anyone stuck in such a situation would be very vocal about it.

- If the v2 upgrade WASN'T released, 50-60% of CX-3 (v1) owners would gripe that all of their wants and suggestions were finally added to the Korg organ products, but they were left out in the cold, unless they wanted to pony up the cost of moving to v2 (or a BX-3).

I think that Korg made the right move.

Regards,

-BW
