Not wishing to get involved in someone else's dispute, but yes,
opinions are just fine.

However your initial post was not an opinion - you were stating it as
an accepted fact, which it isn't. In your subsequent post, you add
the qualifier that this is just 'your opinion' - in which case, fine,
nobody is going to disagree with you.
