thank you all again for your good advices.
I know, i know, every decent studio should have an acoustic piano, a fender rhodes, and a
hammond organ maybe... Actually i am getting into studio to make a record that will
determine my future in music. It is like a big dream for me, and of course my main priority
in life. I will make my album in two different studios, one of them is a very small and
humble one that i own, which ill use on some tracks to save some money, another one is
huge, the biggest studio in Latin America called El Cielo, ubicated in Monterrey Nuevo
Leon in Mexico, which i will be able to use without paying because i made a trade of
services with them, and the other is a masterizing studio in Los Angeles that's still
unknown for me.
In the bigger studio they have a great acoustic piano... but they charge me a lot fo money
just for tuning it ($500-$600 US) plus another amount for renting it (maybe i could make
an extra effort and buy a stage piano not as good sounding as the real thing but very nice
to have for recording and gigs, and for making myself very happy). Our manager thought
that we should hire a producer that coul guarantee a record label a hit record but still be
able to make our music sound like we wanted to. We hired the only producers with a fairly
prestigious name and career that we could afford. So with a very low budget this is the
result: We get to record drums and mix the entire album in the big studio and the other
stuff will be recorded in the little one. So i need to have a good piano sound, a good
Electric piano selection, and of course a funky clavia to make the most decent album i
could do, with a little money and a lot of heart. I know im not doing things the right way,
but i also know many of you understand that sometimes this is the only way to climb up a
single step to make our dreams happen.
As i told you before i already own a Bx3 and a Xv 88... besides the recording sessions, ill
sure love to have a stage piano with very good rhodes and wurly sounds... I always felt
attracted to the Nord Electro, and now when i found out that the Nord Stage was available,
i thought this keyboard was the one for me, maybe using it for the piano and rhodes
sound an plugging a midi controller to it for the organ sounds... (for small gigs that
would be a good solution). Anyway thank you for your helpful hints, im not so sure that i
will buy a nord stage... Can anyone post a review on the Nord Stage or maybe some
comparison notes to other similar options that i could buy for the money?
